Welcome to the School's Open Montana Project
Welcome to the School's Open Montana Project, an interactive resource center containing
budget data for Montana's K-12 schools. This web site is a valuable
tool for policymakers, school administrators, teachers, school board
members, and taxpayers. Here, you will be able to search through District
Summary pages to find current and historical data for any K-12 school in
Montana. You will also be able to select and compare up to 5 school
districts at one time.
Additionally, you can view each school district's response to the Montana Policy Institute's request for School District Employee Compensation information.
Please take the time to review our Usage Agreement before viewing the site.
The School's Open Montana Project is a resource that helps people to better understand K-12 education
funding and property tax debates. Too often these issues are
politicized to the point where the average person simply does not know the
facts. We know where the politicians stand.
But, what are the facts? This web site simply provides people with the
facts.
The data on this web site comes directly from the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Keep in mind that it was at one point entered into the system
by a human, so you may find an occasional error. If you notice one, please
contact the Montana Policy Institute by emailing us at
